Hi Carmen
We are certainly a proponent of Social Media marketing to promote both our Brand and apartments
“The Urbane Way” Breaks From the Pack of Apartment Commodity shunning traditional marketing for Social Media Marketing with significant focus on Enhancing the Residents Experience. Urbane dropped all traditional marketing efforts in exchange for an Urbane MySpace site, an Urbane facebook site, an Urbane You Tube site and an Urbane flickr site. Urbane Apartments and Urbane employees twitter regularly.
To further integrate Urbane started a Social Network site the Urbane Lobby where residents can meet and greet, trade pictures and videos and socialize on line. Urbane also manages and powers a blog aimed at his residents the Urbane Blog, all designed around a specific target demographic and local brand recognition.
This is what I call, “awesome use of social media”. Multi-family historically comprises the 18-35 year old market, which is the prime base of social media (although older groups are integrating and socializing more frequently, but for different purposes). To offer your residents the opportunity to engage with your brand and their apartment-mates is an ideal situation, which more than likely leads to higher retention levels. That is the next experiment with social media.
Thanks, Eric for your comments!
